Well we're home and unpacked after a lovely time at Gower Bluegrass Festival!

We had a set on Saturday and also got to play with our friends Gordon, Kevin and Maria in their sets too which was good fun.

It's the one and only Mr Roo Walker of course! We were very honoured to have him come and play on a couple of tracks yesterday and he's added allsorts of cool things to it that we're very excited for you to hear!

As well as Roo's guitar-y bits; Jay's been holed away in a booth putting down the majority of the CD's vocals over the past two days which has been a long process aided by Yorkshire Tea and Vocal Zone lozenges.

Evening everyone!

Sorry we've been quiet this week! We've all been busy in various different corners of the country in allsorts of combinations.

Last weekend we we're at Moira Furnace Folk Festival which was great! Thanks to all that came - especially Bill, Julia and Tim who came especially just to see us which was lovely of them.

Next week it's back into the studio for Jay, Mike and a mystery musician so we shall be back posting allsorts of bits (mainly photos of Hudson the dog) on here then.

For now, if you're at Purbeck Folk Festival this weekend, you may spot our Michael Giverin there playing with 4square !

So yesterday we had our photoshoot for the album!! We're far too awkward to enjoy having our photo taken but all went well and we're really looking forward to seeing the result and sharing them with you too.

Obviously we don't have anything to show you yet but here's a couple of photos we took on set as a little taster.

THE GORGEOUS VIKING BAY

Oh, Broadstairs! What a lovely time you was!

Straight back to reality now and an onslaught of sheets, diaries and finances! Some exciting progress coming tomorrow but for now here's some photos of the fun we had in Broadstairs....

Well we're awfully sorry we didn't post anything yesterday! We got distracted by Yorkshire pies and pub quizzes and allsorts.

Just finished our 4th day and now we are pretty much exhausted! Everything's gone really well though and we've had a realllly lovely time working with Andy and Hudson and seeing the sights of Doncaster. Fiddle and mandolin are near enough completed now so in a couple of weeks it's vocals time. Off to Broadstairs Folk Festival for the weekend tomorrow before a week of tours, photos and a gazillion emails.

Looking forward to revealing tasters as soon as we can!

Day 2! Another lovely time! Got lots of guitar bits down today and some very impressive mandolin tracks too! (We can say that as it's Jay typing this not Mike !)

Mike was particularly busy today - he did a smashing job too...

Trusty Hudson looked after Mike's sheets while he recorded.....

Then it all got too much and he just needed a cuddle....

Time for a glass of red and a massive sleep ready for tomorrow :)

SO. First day of recording's been done! Had a lovely time and all went well. We have a beautiful studio and a handsome dog so we can't complain :) Here's a couple of shots taken in today's session.....

This all comes in light of the rather exciting news that we're MAKING A NEW ALBUM! You may remember a while back that we received some funding from Help Musician UK's emerging excellence grant and this is the project that that money will be going towards.

Now that the cat's out of the bag - we'd love to keep you involved in all that's going on behind the scenes: photos, videos, tasters of material and maybe even enlisting your valued opinions on occasions!
